Nearly 10,000 people visited the High Design Expo 2016 lounge and Design Salon during “DW! São Paulo Design Weekend 2015”, which took place from the 12th-16th of August, at the Jockey Club, venue for the 1st edition of Art Design Village. The trade-show’s commercial team held more than 50 meetings, beating the expectations of the organizers.
“The receptivity of the sector in relation to High Design Expo was incredible. We have been awaiting an event such as this for ages, where a range of solutions for architecture and decoration are exhibited in the same space, along with valuable information and content for this segment. Never before has a trade show brought together so many segment exhibitors, with the promise of a super qualified visiting public”, commented Lauro Andrade, creator of High Design Expo.
A range of attractions in the collective space
Art Design Village opened exclusively to the press on the 10th of August, attracting more than 1000 people. At the official opening, held on the 11th of August, there were 3000 visitors. During the week from the 10th - 16th of August, the event attracted some 10,000 visitors.
High Design Expo shared a space of 500 square metres at the Art Design Village (Jockey Club), one of the main addresses of the festival, with its partner and curator – Sindmóveis from Bento Gonçalves – which marked its presence with two of its own initiatives, the Prêmio Salão Design (Design Salon Awards) and the display of Projeto Raiz (Root Project), in partnership with Apex-Brasil.
The “Prêmio Salão Design” Awards will be reaching its 20th edition in 2016 and will be focusing on the design shop window, highlighting the capacity and talent of professionals, students and industry in its traditional awards. Projeto Raiz is aimed at internationally promoting the services of designers.
The Lounge of High Design Expo 2016 and Salão Design also exhibited a beautiful work by Hugo França during the entire week of DW!, the Chaise Lauré, which was auctioned in support of the project - Lágrimas da Alegria (Tears of Joy). Initiative of the Atelier Hugo França, Ricardo Cardim Biodiversidade Nativa and Summit Primo, will hold, throughout the year, educational activities and the recuperation of the native Paulistana flora, as well as generate income and social integration in the regions of Ipiranga, Sacomã and Heliópolis.
Apart from these important projects, the collective space further boasted international seminars, also organized by Sindmóveis, business rounds, trade meetings and daily Happy Hours, complete with com DJs.
